syna @ 10:40 pm: We know the library has some kind of centralized location in the middle of nowhere, but I had a thought. Libraries nowadays have satellites; this helps them get new books, and distribute a wider variety of books to people who need them. Would this library have satellites, in major cities and other important locations perhaps? This could serve more than one purpose - there could be some kind of traveling system between the satellites that would lend itself to quests, and it could maybe serve as a means of passing information and getting new books from faraway lands. The librarians could be something of a force to be reckoned with if their system stretches all over the world and they monopolize information that would be otherwise hard to find.

My concern with this is that it may be simply TOO convenient. Part of what's fun about a quest is that you're fighting against the odds, after all. But it's a thought.

I really like this idea a lot. True, we need to be careful about making it too convenient, but this has a lot of potential. It's a great way to get out and see the world, and there tends to be unexpected happenings when travel is involved in a fantasy world. This idea will enable us to see how these different places are connected, and it might tell us something about the economy and/or nations and borders, along with different cultures.

I think that the monopolization of information could be a major theme in our story. It has strikingly great parallels and applications to the real world. In today's market, information seems to be valued above all else, and those with access to the information tend to rule...

So yes, the librarians could indeed be major players!

BTW, how much is the group rate? HOw many people do we need to have to get a group rate at the museum? I'll be bringing at least one friend, and hopefully I can get one or two more to come with me. How much is the regular rate in the event that we don't have enough people?

If I schedule my creation for 4:00 do you think that it gives us too much time at the museum? I don't want to rush things, but I hope that if I schedule the creation at 4:00 that we don't have too much dead time. I just don't want to rush things at the museum.

Oh, have you seen Howl's Moving Castle?
